Dogs Dogs Dig (DDI) It is central SE Portland's premiere dog boarding location! Our highly-trained staff has been taking care of dogs and offering exceptional overnight dog boarding for 17+ years! When you leave your dog for overnight boarding, you can rest easy knowing that you’re leaving your pup in very capable hands. Portland dogs love boarding in our 12,000sq. ft., turf-covered, nature-themed play yards (all mud free), which give dogs of all sizes ample room to romp, play, and burn off some of that boundless energy.

At Dogs Dig It, we believe dogs need space to safely play, so we choose to limit the number of dogs each day, prioritizing safety and quality care. We also have an extensive daily cleaning and disinfectant processes, which also includes disinfecting our turf-covered play yards on a daily basis (with a specialty designed product made specifically for dog daycare centers). These are just a few reasons why when you leave your dog for overnight boarding, you can rest easy knowing that you’re leaving your pup in very capable hands! Dogs Dig It (DDI) has Portland's most experienced long term staff team. Known in the industry as one of the best places to work, we attract some of Portland's most well versed, experienced dog care providers. All our dog handlers are experts in canine body and individual dog breed play styles. We only use proactive positive tools to manage and redirect our play groups. The staff at Dogs Dig It is it's most valued asset. They are the heart and soul of DDI, providing loving, expert care to our clients and their wonderful pups. Our dedicated, colorful team of dog geeks have over 30 plus years of dog care experience in a variety of settings, such as vet care, dog training and other boarding and daycare businesses. Together they work hard to provide high quality, exceptional care that Dogs Dig It is known for and your dog deserves.

ABOUT OUR TEAM

Dogs Dig It is maintains a company culture where passionate, dog-loving individuals of all backgrounds, races, genders and identities feel empowered and supported. Many of our staff members have been at DDI for 1-2 years (or more) and enjoy a culture of honesty, teamwork and support. Our staff are paid $1 to $2 over the city’s minimum wage and enjoy a 3% matching 401k program. We consider sick time as flex time and pay yearly bonuses.


Our staff participates in both online and in person training programs designed to increase and expand our knowledge in canine body language, breed specific play styles, interactive yard activities and positive pack management techniques.  We also focus on communication skills both with customers and between staff members, encouraging and supporting team members to share ideas, providing honest feed back and thoughtful educational customer service. 


We know that your dog is an important well loved family member and you only want the highest quality of care for them.  We invite  you to come visit us and meet our fabulous team of expert care givers. 

Interested in Dog Boarding?

Here is some important information to get started:

  • What days are daycare and overnight boarding available?

    At Dogs Dig It, we offer simple interactive daycare 5 days a week, from 6:30 am to 7 pm.  Daycare fun is included with every overnight stay. 

  • What are overnight boarding rates?

    Overnight boarding is $60. 

  • Are discounts available?

    Discounted packages are available for both full day and 1/2 day (5.5 hrs or less) Daycare.  

  • How do I get set up for boarding?

    Contact your vet to get a copy of your dog's vaccination records, make sure that your dog's vaccinations are up-to-date, and that they have the Bortadella and Canine Flu Vaccinations. 

    •  You may need to schedule an appointment for these two vaccinations, as they are not on the typical vaccination schedule.

  • Is there a minimum age for boarding?

    Dogs must be 6 months or older and be neutered or spayed.
